I find it interesting observing human behavior. One should be aware of the games that people play. The favorite game of conservatives on the thread is : Your mother wears army boots

They enjoy the game and they have had ample practice at it. If another player wishes to begin a game of Let's look at the facts., the conservative players attempt to turn it into a game of Your mother wears army boots as quickly as possible. While other conservative players may take a few moves to turn it into Your mother wears army boots, jla moves immediately to the game. jla represents our GOP leadership. It's one of their favorite games.

Other conservatives endulge in pseudo-sophisticated games like: Let's Play Sophistry. In Let's Play Sophistry the player inserts words or phrases like common sense at random places in arguments as if they were common sense. When a player uses such a phrase, the last characteristic that applies to the argument is common sense. Such players also uses completely irrelevant parallelisms as if they were applicable. One need only pause for a moment and see the falacy of the parallelism.

Another favorite game for conservatives is Twister. One has to be a professional conservative to play Twister. Let's Play Sophistry is a close game but played be amateurs. In Twister, one takes obscure facts, or highly selected statistics and makes leaping conclusions based on them. These conclusions can not be supported outside of the limited universe from which they were drawn. Twister is not played by conservatives on this thread because it requires creative composition. But you will see the amateur use Twisters prepared by professionals. Most often such fine electronic publications like newsmax.com are sources for Twisters.

I've found the best counter-game to Twister is Explain this Contradiction [self-explanatory]. The counter-counter game to Explain this Contradiction is usually Your mother wears army boots or I have a plane to catch.

It's fairly easy to play any of the conservative games. Though it's boring. Let's Play Sophistry can be fun for short periods of time, but you tend to feel dirty.

I like to play Let's be friends with conservatives. In this game you accept the position of the conservative and then slide into a game of Explain this Contradiction. If done with style, the conservative will exit with a sense of urgency. Sometimes playing a very brief game of It's a Mystery, which suggests that with a mere act of faith one can accept the contradiction.

Under no circumstances will you be able to play a game of Let's look at the facts. with conservatives for any length of time.

I've noticed a relatively new game they've started. Change is good. The new game is You're not wearing a tie. In You're not wearing a tie some frivolous reason is created to exclude you from the game or to terminate a game of Let's look at the facts. To refuse the game You're not wearing a tie will initiate a game of Your mother wears army boots.

There are some other minor games, but this covers the basics.

Cheers,
jttmab
