Joan, you need not guess. as of 9/30, as per the Federal Reserve Flow of Funds report, foreign investors held 31.6% of treasuries, 11.9% of agencies, 22.5% of corporate bonds and 12.2% of equities. their purchases of agencies and treasuries in the 2nd & 3rd quarters were simply mind-boggling, recalling their top-ticking of the equity and direct investment markets in 2000 and their top-ticking of the corporate bond market in 2001.
