Here is one writer's take on the rationale (Reza Mahmoodshahi, Published 3/11/2002 in the Cornell Review):

"Iran’s inclusion in Bush’s much-misunderstood “axis of evil” is a step forward for Iranian people everywhere, except of course, the religious oppressors in Tehran. It’s a battle cry for help; it’s a cry for long-overdue action on America’s end."

Oh crap, this is emotional fodder better found in a Hollywood movie glamorizing war and American might.

Show me a poll where the Iranian people are begging for American action. Just as a thought....you don't have one.
