<So explain to me in simplistic terms, why hundreds of muslims in the LA area are held in detention, because they followed the law, and showed up at the INS offices there, as requested.>

Kumar, you mean in simple terms, not simplistic. [Since we are being pedantic about word meanings]. Simplistic means <The tendency to oversimplify an issue or a problem by ignoring complexities or complications>

Saddam's stepson was arrested in Florida, held for several days, then evicted back to New Zealand when he attended simulator training. It was all legitimate except he'd filled in their form incorrectly. He works for Air New Zealand as a flight engineer. He was being trained for an air-freight company job.

I don't know anything about the Moslems held in Los Angeles so can't give you a simple reason. A simplistic one is that they are suspected of being bad guys.
