>>>. After all, all we have to fear is our own lack of confidence.<<

I would say, turning FDR upside-down, "The only thing that can make me confident is a total lack of confidence."

It ain't happened yet. The blathering idiots on "Wall Street Week" were at it again this evening. They sound like the British medieval mystic, Dame Julian of Norwich: "And all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well."

No one on the show dared to predict a Dow any lower at any point in 2003 than about 7300 (I did not write down all their moronic estimations). And they all saw that as a passing dip.

I suppose that I am somewhat corrupted by my own success--when I see someone being congratulated for "only" LOSING their clients 12% in the past year--and my own eclectic and weird choices have me up about maybe 30%--maybe more. OK, I just checked my trading account. I am up 63% for 2002. My IRA is only up 26% for the year, however, and my wife's IRA is up 40%. My daughter's account, almost all in BEARX, is up about 60%.
