Conservates Republicans are (for the most part) representative of the working middle class. The same middle class who understands you don't punish achievement in order to create more achievers. If Democrats are such a fiscally responsible party, why have they fought tooth and nail in Washington state against the state auditor doing his job and auditing the government? The Democrat party idea of being fiscally responsible is to spend and spend, then scream foul when they can't raise taxes higher and higher to cover the cost. We currently have close to the highest tax rate in the history of our county on individual Americans, yet it never seems to be enough for Democrats. Patty Murray has done nothing to reduce the cost of government in the state of Washington, on the contrary she's done just the opposite. The same is true of our Democrat Governor. They both sat idly by and did nothing while Boeing moved their headquarters, and while Microsoft was being attacked by Clinton lawyers. Some record of accomplishment.
