There is no GOP majority. They won because independents backed Bush during warring times. And because Bush had no clear opposition. The Democrats were split between anti and pro Iraq war. The last gasp of the Clinton era failed to carry the day. Another reason Gore dropped out. The Democrats need a strong new highly-respected and likeable moderate common sense leader who makes Bush look like the moral and mental midget he really is. This new leader must get moderates of all parties excited and voting for him. John Kerry is that man.

Republicans and Democrats are roughly tied at about 40% of the voters. The Republicans tend to get out the vote a little better especially when they can out-spend the DEmocrats so the Dems need a less partisan leader and plenty of money (which kerry has). As I've said, the ultimate unbeatable ticket in 2004 would be Kerry-McCain and it might just happen. Would be GREAT for the country too. We need unity no more partisan name-calling and special interests wars. At least we need a lot less of it. We also need more intelligent common sense debate and not a bunch of moronic name-calling. That gets nothing done. Also, minorities and the lower classes have to be at least partially content and hopeful. Otherwise crime rates start climbing and that costs us all.
