Under Clinton, we spent billions on defense..........more then enough for the only superpower in a world mostly at peace.

Yet, when Clinton took office, the consensus was that we could win two major theater wars and "hold" at least two others simultaneously, while today, you're telling us (falsely, I believe) that we can't win ONE major theater war (NK) and win another minor skirmish (Iraq) at the same time.

that and the fact, there is never enough money in the world to satisfy a conservative's need for massive defense spending.

As usual, the preceding liberal has left the military in a weakened state. Some of us believe that national defense is the single most important function of government and should NEVER be subject to underfunding.
