Will, Vt. is divided in 2, there is the state of Vt., then there is the state of Vt.'s ski areas <g>..The person who bought the house probably compared the price with Long Island re prices and figured they got a great deal<g>..call it "stinking thinking". IMO, that is the mind set that has propelled re prices here..The backlash of this,a local can no longer afford to purchase a home here..so one has to ask, who will operate the ski lifts for those who can afford the $67/day lift ticket? <vbg>.And of course, as re values soar, so do property taxes based on reassesment values. But, there will be justice, I'll bet within 2 years that $400k home will be lucky to sell for $300k, and then the snowball which has been pushed up to the top of the hill will run out of steam and begin it's journey back down ..;^) DD PS: I haven't checked re prices up towards Burlington, but I would suspect there has been a backlash from IBM.. But, $3 mil will still buy you your own 9 hole golfcourse, indoor/outdoor tennis, built in pool, 50 acres, and all the fix'ins<g> landvest.com |
