Dale, Keeping the five dollar min rule. A 1 dollar pick may go to 2 the first week and someone is up 100 percent and the rest of us have hardly got started.

Does the 1 dollar stock go to 2 before the 5 goes to 10 or the 20 goes to 40? The answer is blowing in the wind. I read somewhere that the 10 or 12 dollar stock goes to 20 or 24 quicker than and more often than any other range. If you want to double your money you buy a good 10 stock.

I agree with you their are stocks under 5 that are not junk but beat in down good quality that will maybe head back up.
Just don't want that percentage gain to be too quick. Contestants who want to play the percentage game can try and pick a single stock close to 5 hoping it does not go under during the first day of the contest, closing under, which would mean they do not quality. Best to pick a single stock close to 6 to play it safe. The first day closing price of your stock pick(s) is the starting price.

Most of the time a 1 dollar stock just sits there while the 50 dollar stock moves up right away. We all want to buy one thousand shares of a 1 dollar stock instead of 20 shares of the 50 dollar. We want to make 1K per dollar up instead of only 20 dollars a dollar up. One answer to this problem is to buy warrants. Warrants are not allowed in this contest only stock picks.

Start a fun contest of your own in that price range if you want. Keeping score of one contest is enough for me.(G)
