such statements as these are the stuff of which propaganda is made, especially when they lead off the article in question.,
Personally, I could care less if he was/is a womanizer and a drunk...
All I have to do is review his rhetoric, his actions, and the fact that he continues to have one of the largest standing armies in the world positioned to tear into S. Korea at short notice..
I merely have to look at the "agreement" that the great "peacemaker", Jimmy Carter forged in 1994, which we abided by to the tune of 500,000 tonnes of fuel oil per year, food, and light water reactor technology, but which apparently Jong, in a beautiful coup, never intended to adher to..
Here we have former US presidents, our SecState, and various other heads of state traveling to Pyongyang in order to pacify Jong... And Jong uses that fact to build himself up in his controlled propaganda... showing that he's important enough to make them come to him...
It's little wonder the guy believes that all he has to do is escalate the rhetoric and he'll be able to extort all the economic and political support that he wants out of us...
It's no different than dealing with a school bully.. If you show weakness, or permit him to shake you down once for your lunch money, then you know he'll be back down the road...
But if you confront him, and better yet, bring in some buddies who recognize things are getting out of hand, he'll recognize that you're no longer responding to the fear factor, but bringing collective pressure to bear upon his activities...
