I've noticed that 95% of the name calling on this thread comes from "Conservatives."

I have to disagree with Ray. Ray implies that there was some conscious decision to make a "distraction" using name calling.

Let me use two recent examples. Most recently, Dave. He admittedly knows nothing about any of the opinions of the 9th circuit court, yet by some miraculous event, he knows they are wrong. Another recent example was by Mike, who again admittedly knows nothing of substance on any of the protectionist policies of the Bush Administration. Perhaps two cases are insufficient to claim a pattern, but I think if one were to review prior posts, you could identify the consistent pattern.

I'll compliment Dave and Mike for publicly acknowledging that they are ignorant of the facts; that's guts. On the other hand to plead ignorance and then assert a position in ignorance...isn't too swift.

That illustrates my point. These folks aren't bright enough to develop a strategy of "distraction". Some one would have to tell them to do it. Alternatively, they are mimicing the behavior that they see. I believe this is the case. They admit that they are Rush listeners and admirers. It's a technique that Rush uses throughout his show.
