As far as dominance similar to Microsoft, there are few other companies in the world that can be compared to them- thats why I dont believe that the general comparison is reasonable. If you just want to look at the numbers and ignore the industry- Dell is growing much faster than MSFT. Same thing with Compaq. The majority of Dell's gains in market share are coming at the expense of Compaq. And, again, Dell is growing in size and earnings at a much faster rate. As far as Dell losing its edge, I dont see that happening anytime soon. For the past three years Dell has managed to be two steps ahead of the rest of the computer indsutry no matter what the others do.

I do agree that Dell might be getting ahead of itself. 20 points up this week already- Im actually happy to see the selling today. A correction is a strong possibility, but in the long run, Id rather have my money in Dell.
