Is it treason if it's perpetrated by the "RIGHT" garbage?:

It would only be treason is the materials that were sold were banned from being exported..

They weren't. There were shipped from the CDC for the purpose of medical research (we do this with other countries as well).. They were hand carried by an Iraqi doctor who spent 3 months training at the CDC..

Now if Iraq turns around and decides to weaponize samples provided for the purpose of medical research, is that the fault of the US..

Export controls were put in place in 1995 by the "right-wing" US congress..

But none of this indicates that the US sold Saddam the equipment (fermenters.. etc) necessary for weaponizing these samples...

But do I put it past some rogue party in the Reagan/Bush administration, perceiving a greater threat from Iran than Iraq, arranging such a shipment (legally, of course)... absolutely not..

But I'd be strongly amazed were it discovered that individuals at higher levels actually encouraged export of these biological medical samples..

Either way.. the genie is out of the bottle and it needs to be put back in...
