There is something called sodium pentathol I believe, that gets the prisoner talking about all he knows from as far back as he can remember.

(Even dentists use it on alcoholic patients, for normal anesthesia does not work on them. A friend was telling me how he fills the mouth of this alcoholic patient with cotton & stuff immediately after giving him the sodium pentathol because otherwise he just would not stop talking about how he cheats his wife with her sister and how he steals money from his company etc <g> )

Besides, this is supposed to be the civilized world against evil. Or something. How is the western world any better if, at first temptation, they use barbarian tactics that are outlawed in all western civilizations?

I remember the US criticising other countries for killing or torturing their terrorists. I admired it then, because no matter how inhuman terrorists actions get, I believe we should never slip from our high moral ground. There can be no excuse for torturing people.

Oh by the way, torture is extremely inefficient if what you want to find is the truth and not just a culprit. People under torture just want the pain to stop, so after a while they just start to say what they think the torturer wants to hear. And they will sign under anything. A truth drug is far more effective in interrogation.
