I knew North Korea had a food problem but hadn't read of two million deaths from starvation. What a monster!

I noted one thing in one of the otherwise good articles that I suspect is hogwash:

Noting that Kim Jong Il's father, Kim Il Sung, became leader of North Korea in 1948, he said, "A monarchical absolute tradition of five centuries will not disappear in 50 years."


If this were true, South Korea would not be a democracy.
