John Kerry is an expert on N. Korea, arms, and strategies to best use our might to contain and disarm potential threats. His general stance is to never pull a gun unless you plan to use it. A responsible philosophy. I'm afraid the North Koreans feel especially threatened by Bush and this provoked their reactions. Prior to that they had been contained. Now the hornets are out of the nest. Not much we can do about N. Korean with Seoul so close to them, so without a military option it's best to let mad dogs sleep and not wake them up. Bush's chickenhawks devised a plan based on domestic political gain to appear mucho macho by threatening the Axis Of Evil. In fact this is no axis at all, and if you call a foe evil they are not going to want to be reasonable with you and negotiate down their arms. Bush and his people misjudged bigtime and now I am not sure how we put them back in their bottle without strong support from China. And CHina is worried about Rumsfield's missile defense program in Alaska so why should they trust he Bushies enough to step in? A quagmire has been created. I haven't heard any logical solutions from the Bush Administration yet. Have you? Meanwhile the Iraq and Iran situations are raging. Being tough is one thing, and Kerry is, but being smart is most important.
