N. Korea has had nukes for a long time but has been contained. A gradual warming of relations would bring about partial opening up of that country as we did with Red China. Sicne we cannot invade them without dooming South Korea to a blitzkrieg we'd better start making nice. It's just common sense. If Kerry has anything I admire it's common sense. You dont wake up a sleeping tiger unless you have a very big gun and are ready to use it. By the way, Bush has also lied to us that NK has missiles capable of hitting Hawaii or Alaska. Those are just excuses to spend many billions on Rumsfield's pet project SDI which no doubt his contractor buddies get rich off. But while I'd support further testing deployment could utrn out to be a real waste of money and irritate China and NK both into NOT complying with us again. Communists are paranoid people. have to be careful with them.
