Uncle Scam can't afford war. So most likely this is all just sabre rattling. Anything to keep the public's mind off the tanking economy and Bush's substantial tax increases. Increase of public debt since January 2001. This does not include off balance sheet financings: Almost $10,000 per U.S. household. In the news: Bush is starting to whine up the debt ceiling in congress. So more tax increases ahead.
