It sems to me that a lot of the same people who are interested in Canadian reits and trusts are also interested in those in the US and there are many interesting differences between the way these things are organized in the two countries. I first got interested maybe 15 years ago in US royalty trusts like PBT and SBR, and have owned quite a number of them at various times. Only over the last 2-3 years have I moved in Canadian royalty trusts, partly because it seems to me that the Candian dollar is absurdly priced against the US dollar and partly because I think Canada may be increasingly important as an energy supplier to the US.

There is an analyst who follows the US energy trusts quite carefully, though like all of us, he is not infallible, especially in the short term (under two years). Kurt Wulff's site may be found here, if you don't know it:
