Well, I've already blown the sage advice in this poem, but here's hoping we can all be inspired by it:

The Tao Of The New Year

Please do not compete
for power or positions
or even for me.
Know that honorable
recognition
comes from strong silence.
This you will see.
Wrap tao around
your neighbourhood
and stretch it round the earth-
Renewal of energy-dramatic rebirth.
Eliminate ignorance of
poverty of body and soul.
Resist opposition
while remaining whole.
Enjoy the scented seasons
of the coming year.
Send love and kindness to yourself.
Walk through fear.
Express, create, dream and dance.
Take risks.
Give time a chance.
Create your own revolution.
Do not look for a solution.
Lend your hand.
Quiet the mind.
And this fragile New Year will be gracious and kind!
