Bush's explanation about NK vs Iraq doesn't make any sense. He says NK can be pressured by neighbors but Iraq cannot. He says NK has not defied the international community but Iraq has. He says NK has not threatened the US but Iraq has. Can even conservatives pick out any truth in these statements? The truth is, Bush's Axis Of evil speech awakened a sleeping tiger in NK and now he realizes the US has no realistic military options, so he has to back off. Iraq he knows is an "easy" military target with lotsa oil for his cronies and revenge for his father. Bush also has himself in a box by deploying SDI in Alaska. That will freak out the Chinese and they are the only ones who can whip NK into shape for us. Why should China help us now? If they think Bush may become an aggressor vs China they'd WANT NK to be a strong military ally. Like Sauron using the Orcs. NK has such a huge army they could sweep across SE Asia. It's all a big mess now. And then there's Iran. Bush has irritated them as well just as the moderates there were gaining a foothold. Now they are entrenched again and building a nuke plant. The truth is the US cannot battle all these forces at once without creating Armageddon. And meanwhile the US becomes less and less popular and trusted throughout the world, as opposed to Clinton's era when most of the world loved us and the global economy was booming.
