Saddam is extremely unlikely to ever attack the US. He would be taken out the next day if he did. Bush would no longer need any excuses. Bush making a statement like this shows he's fanning some kind of imaginary flames to divert attention from the economy again. Just like they did with the whole Saddam issue back in August. How many times can this work for Bush? And why cant he ever take responsibility for anything himself? So far he's blamed Clinton, Usama and now Saddam for the economy. Who's next? Only real dummies believe these deflections, diversions and obvious passes of the buck. I think Karl Rove has realized blaming Clinton and Usama wont work into 2003 so they need someone else to blame, though Saddam has done nothing to harm our economy at all, nor is he likely to given that is surrounded by our forces.
