The idea that this is just some sort of outsourcing fad is absurd. Global companies are pouring tens of billions of dollars into China. The volume of business here is booming and has been for years. The world economy is growing -- and that growth is concentrated in China. A new $150 billion national water system was announced a few days ago -- three times as large as the Three Gorges project. Thousands of miles of road are being built every year. More engineers graduate in China each year than there are students studying engineering at all schools from all countries in the US. In every way and in every sense, an economic power rivaling the United States is being born right under your nose.
