URBAN LEGEND Dept. -- Al Gore didn't say he invented the Internet.

Buddy,

I find it absolutely incredible that even when a candidate has withdrawn from the field that he can be used as such a "weapon of mass distraction" against intelligent political discourse and debate. Examining the hysterical ravings of a lunatic Right Wing fringe beating on this old horse, one can't help but conclude that either these RightWingNuts are either really, really cunning about distraction, are really, really stupid or are really, really mentally deranged. Or, more likely, an unholy combination of the three.

Here's some more ammo for your campaign to set the record straight. Not that it will convince any of the liars who continually perpetrate this urban legend.

Type in "Gore Internet" and this is what pops out:

Claim: Vice-President Al Gore claimed that he "invented" the Internet.

Status: False.

Origins: No, Al Gore did not claim he "invented" the Internet, nor did he say anything that could reasonably be interpreted that way
