"protecting...Eli Lilly from any and all lawsuits pertaining to the manufacture of thimersol, a mercury based preservative for childhood vaccines produced by Lilly for 40 years"
Thimersol used to be put in soft contact lens saline solution as a preservative. I never understood the need to preserve salt water, a preservative itself. Some of us used to make our own rather than put mercury compounds in our eyes. There were scattered cases of reactions to it. I just love blanket immunity for large political donors.... especially when nobody will claim to placing it there. How can this Congress pass riders like this without having the 'totally' liberal press scream bloody murder about it? Perhaps totally corporate press is closer to the truth.

Just to add some FA to this post, has anyone wondered if Bush put NK in the axis of evil due to some intelligence received? Suppose we had figured out they were cheating, but couldn't show the proof without tipping off the source. The cheating definitely preceded the labeling.
