Excuse me Mr Kohn, but a viewpoint is something a bit different than actual facts (like Islam prohibiting visual representations of God and Mohammad, and whether or not a philosophical debate is used to disprove the existence of Christian God or Allah), about which one can certainly be judged "ignorant".
I still do not believe that the Europeans ought to be judging the US on our treatment of others, just because it hurts your sensitivities.
Everyone judges everyone else. The US has judged and still does judge other countries on the basis of its own values and standards. Now Europe judges the US for the Bush administration's legally weak discourse about keeping people for a year in Guantanamo without access to lawyers, using torture methods, etc.
I cannot begin to understand how you feel US is above criticism. |
