There are 14 million cars and trucks in the entire country. Production and imports combined are less than 3 million annually.

By far the majority percentage of cars and trucks are commercial (many taxis, some enterprise vehicles, but few) and government-owned vehicles. I just read that China still has 10 million horse-drawn carts.

I'm not disputing that China is growing its economy rapidly, bit it still ranks below 100th place in per-capita GDP.

If you keep professing that 40 million Chinese can afford an $80,000 BMW (or even a $20,000 VW) you need to have your head examined.
