Don't forget that while the restaurant sells the hot dogs out front, more is going on in the kitchen.

Although hot dogs are a great base product (everyone eats - or uses lighting), the algae is being tested in salads (blue laser), desserts (power switches)

Also, the U.S. Government likes the algae as some form of future ingredient in defense needs, so provides millions of dollars in recipe supplements. Not bad.
