The British and the Arabs permitted immigration into Palestine, but given an inch, the Zionists wanted a mile and started a campaign to force the British's hand and to subdue the land.

Len.. The Balfour Declaration made it British policy to support a Jewish homeland in Palestine. (1917).

They obtained Arab (Hashemite) support for such a homeland in Palestine (territory including present day Jordan). (1917)

The head of the Arab delegation, Emir Feisal, great-grandfather of Abdallah, the present King of Jordan, agreed that "Palestine" would be the Jewish homeland.

And the Peel Commission investigating Arab unrest in Palestine noted that this homeland was intended to include ALL of Trans-Jordan, not just the portion west of the Jordan:

(Note: The Peel Commission did not believe that Jewish immigration was detrimental to the financial well-being of the Arab population and assumed that the issue of Jewish immigration would be resolved within the Jewish state.)

Actual Peel commission report:

And an interesting paragraph from it:

"In order to obtain Arab support in the War, the British Government promised the Sherif of Mecca in 1915 that, in the event of an Allied victory, the greater part of the Arab provinces of the Turkish Empire would become independent. The Arabs understood that Palestine would be included in the sphere of independence.

In order to obtain the support of World Jewry, the British Government in 1917 issued the Balfour Declaration. The Jews understood that, if the experiment of establishing a Jewish National Home succeeded and a sufficient number of Jews went to Palestine, the National Home might develop in course of time into a Jewish State"

Now then.....

The Hashemites, who initiated the Great Arab revolt against the Ottoman Turks, sought to gain control over Syria, Iraq and other parts of the Ottoman Empire in order to form a United Arab Kingdom.

The Hashemites claim they are the legitimate heirs to the Caliphate by virtue of their descendancy from Muhammed:

chn-net.com

"The Hashemites are the direct descendants of the Prophet through his daughter Fatima and her husband Ali bin Abi Talib, who was also the Prophet's paternal first cousin and the fourth Caliph of Islam."

In 1922, the Hashemites persuade the British to sub-divide Trans-Jordan, reneging on the original Balfour declaration (which Faisal had agreed to) giving them control over everything east of the Jordan river. The Jews, not possessing sufficient political power could do nothing except make the best of what was left.

The Saudis, seeking to control the holy sites, and supported by their Wahhabi Ikhwan (muslim brotherhood) fanatical "storm troopers", succeeded in driving the Hashemite out of the holy cities of Medina and Mecca.

I, as a US taxpayer, am funding this welfare state and I am taking the issue up with my fellow Americans.

Well, you can always refuse to pay your taxes or move out of the country...

Besides, our tax dollars are also paying several billion a year to Egypt.... It's called peace by bribery... Which is infinitely better than both nations going at each other's throats again...

So get over it..
