Their Dad taught 'em. It happened quite by accident. The guys went out a couple of months ago and played golf. It was something that just doesn't happen near enough I guess because of the age difference between the oldest and middle child. Anyway, it started to rain and the guys all headed into the club house. They were in the men's only dining area when my husband spotted a bridge deck and asked the boys if they wanted to learn to play. Let me mention here that our oldest boy's friend came along to make it an even 4 on the course. He already knew how to play bridge and after about an hour, my two sons had gotten the basics and were enjoying the game. 5 hours after they started playing bridge, they came home. Mainly because the club closes at 11pm. The middle boy was telling our daughter how much fun it was and she wanted to learn too.

Now, at least once a week, we have a bridge night. Our 9 year old daughter is the queen of no-trump. Our oldest son comes over at least once a month and since there's 5 of us we take a turn sitting out a game. Usually it's me....I make the snacks.<g>

They love it. It's a challenge for 'em just like golf is. And like golf, it's something we can all do together as a family.
