You're having the same kind of trouble that I had when I went to buy real shares of IPSU. TDWaterhouse won't give you real-time quotes on BB stocks, so I thought something was wrong when I placed the order for 'IPSU.OB'. Then I tried 'IPSU', and it still wouldn't give me an actual quote to go along with my order preview. So then I called TDW to figure out what was going on. By the time I got through to a warm body the price had risen 20% on the day, and I had to scale back the number of shares I planned to buy. In fact, by the time I placed my second order that day the price was up considerably more.
After a few days of having IPSU in her IRA, Puddlewife woke up one morning and asked, "How's my sugar?" She's never called me "Sugar" before, so I pondered for a moment and figured out that she was referring to the stock, not to me :-(. Now she doesn't even ask, she just goes to my computer and opens up Netscape and checks the quotes. And she's not satisfied with delayed quotes anymore, she's got to have real time. She used to be computer illiterate, but now she tells me when I have email (all you chicks who were sending me email had better tone it down!), she tells me how much the stocks in my IRA are dropping and how much the ones in hers are rising. And she even gets into my TA software sometimes. For being a refugee,an ex-con, and someone who uses English as a third language she has become frighteningly sophisticated. |
