Larry, funny you should mention yield. I bought a 16-Mbit chip today and was talking to the salesperson about the industry and she said something that I found a little hard to believe, but if someone can give a read on it I'd appreciate it.

She said that some companies sell "the ones that don't make it" as lower grade chips, which are then stamped with another brand name.

That doesn't seem to make any sense to me. If they didn't "make it", wouldn't they be useless? This is the first I've ever heard of various "grades" of DRAMs.

Does anybody know if this is true and/or whether MU does it?

Tom
