The very fact that he turned back proves that the war in Iraq wasn't about oil back in Desert Storm. It also proves America had no desire of remaking the Middle East in its own image.

Funny how both arguments were used by anti-war demonstrators back then. They weren't true then, and they aren't true now. Think about it.
