Jim,

re: Nokia & BREW

<< This part regarding Qualcomm and Nokia caught my attention ... The company [Nokia] has licensed Qualcomm's BREW software, which may increase the likelihood it will secure new deals with other CDMA carriers such as Verizon Wireless and Alltel.

That caught my attention as well.

This is the second reference I have seen to Nokia licensing BREW. The first was in a December 04, 2002 research note by Lehman Brothers immediately following Nokia's end of year strategy update:

We note Nokia recently confirmed licensing QUALCOMM’s BREW software in an effort to help its positioning, potentially with carriers such as Verizon.

To the best of my knowledge there has been no public confirmation of this by either Nokia or Qualcomm.
