Not this one. The phrase "It's all about oil" is dramatic and not very subtle. People believe it because it's a catchy soundbite. It plays to their fears of "the man" and the "evil oil barrons," and it relieves them of any thoughtful analysis on the issue.

I exaggerated to make a point. No one except those with an axe to grind can take the conspiracy theory seriously.
