Danny, we have had record mild winter weather up until recently. The reason has been a consistent pressure cell in the Gulf of AK, which has pushed warm air about as far north as here, and kept interior snowfall to a minimum.

That has recently changed. The cell is still there but weakened and has moverd further to the south and east, I believe. We recently had a little snow and for the last two weeks have had below zero continuously, with some recent lows below - 30 F. I live up in the hills a tad so it is generally a little warmer at my pad.

Come Sunday evening or there abouts we're predicted to hit
- 45 F or lower. Jan. as you may recall is typically a cold month here. I moved here mid winter ' 99. Been mild winters so far. Has only been below - 40 F one night as I recall, since I moved here. Unusual.

The wood pile goes down a little quicker than normal when it gets real cold, like - 15 F and below. Luckily not much wind.

Grew up in northern Idaho so I had experienced cold weather. But, until you experience this and the longevity of it over the course of a winter you don't really have a good feeling for it. You may recollect.

and the cell. Right now the cell is pushing air up in here, hence we've warmed up a tad. But the cold from the north is supposed to win out over the next few days.
