As to CA production, I would not put too much trust in CA remaining a viable producer, other than for organic crowd. We here have a funny way of holding on to the latest fad for about 6 months to a year. At that point our state gov't finds a way to tax the hell out of a money making situation, thus killing the incentive.

Organic farming was going great guns here (but now taxed) The produce now sits in the markets in very small quanity with (from what I've seen) no interest as the price is about 30% higher than the regular produce.

I'll try and find some additional infromation also.
