You should have waved at the intersection with the Sinclair station. I lived just across the cornfield. Now that stretch is 6 to 8 lanes wide and is in the center of town.

I had a '49 Plymouth. My dad had driven it for years. By the time I got it the clutch was shot, no adjustment left. It got so bad that it wouldn't make it up the drive. I got $10 for it at the junkyard.
