I just said it for comparison. You'd be surprised at how many people think Amazon has a higher valuation than ever retailer on the planet.

Walmart was founded over 40 years ago. It took that many years of flawless execution by Sam Walton and his team before it reached its current valuation. In the process many others failed (Kmart, Woolworth...).

Well yeah- there was some inflation along the way too, as well as a larger market opportunity.

I agree that Amazon has open a window of opportunity with their portal business, all the rest is bubble talk.

Call it what you will. To me it sounds like anytime anybody speaks in terms of potential of companies these days the naysayers come out and call it "bubble talk". No vision is precisely why Holly Becker made such a disastrous call on amzn earlier this year. The fact is there is no easier international retailing model for a US corp than Amzn. If you took costco or walmart today, with all their resources and gave them a direction to set up shop in asia or any international country- vs. amazon, starting from square one (which is about where these guys are)- amazon would clobber the competition outright imo and they are in the process of doing just that.

Anyway you and I agree they have an issue with debt.
