Stephen,

Re: The usual rent a crowd will turn up,

The last time I attended a Washington anti-war rally I did so in the company of a company man. I.e. a gentleman who worked at the time as an analyst for the CIA.

The last rally here in Bend, OR that I organized was attended by the president of our local college, doctors and our Democratic candidates for several offices.

Your puerile mis-characterization of the people who are opposing the madness of King George is typical of the lack of comprehension that your ilk brings to the debate.

Your fantasies aren't widely shared. Thank heavens. The latest polls are indicating a precipitous drop in King George's popularity. His hypocrisy and Kim Jong Il's crafty diplomatic maneuverings have made Bush look like the image of Gulliver being tied down by the Lilliputians that so disgracefully graced the pages the FY 2002 White House budget. The Bushes see themselves as arrogant uber-mensches. The rest of the world are closer to reality. They see the Bushies as over-stuffed, corrupt bullies.

Speaking of which, the real "rent-a-crowd" was the one that turned up at the County Clerk's offices in Dade County Florida in 2000. Well dressed men fomenting a riot as the clerks were having an attempt at democracy. This crowd of thugs successfully foiled democracy, and many of them are now (as then) on the payroll of George Bush. What does that tell you about "rent-a-crowds" and the Nazification of American politics? Eh, Steven, answer that one.
