We are not public figures as they are defined by law and you know it CH. You may make a specious argument about us being just like Mother Theresa if you like, but it is bunk, and you know it, I hope. If not, I don't think much of your logic on this subject. It is precisely because we are NOT public figures that I take the tack I do about what is said on SI. If you were a public figure I wouldn't think twice about what anyone did to you or your persona.

You may not like what Mr. Hitchens says, but I would hope you would embrace his right to say it. Bravo Mr. Hitchens I say. Bravo. Whether I agree with him or not, he is speaking for someone- if only for himself. You like to applaud free speech when it doesn't bother you- try applauding the stuff that really matters, the stuff that does bother you. I think you've mentioned that before, in contexts where the speech didn't rub you the wrong way.
