What Hitchins was saying, if you read the article, was not simply negative things about MT, which are nothing new, they've been said for years.

What he was doing was trying to set the rules for how the Catholic Church should handle its internal affairs. He was criticizing its process for deciding who it would make a saint. Which is none of his business, IMO.

And no, I'm not a Catholic, and I don't care whether they make a saint of MT or not. But I think they have a right to do it without Hitchens blowing off his infantile mouth about it.

And no, I'm not trying to take away his legal right to.

I'm suggesting, which I know is dumb, that maybe he ought to think about being a decent person.

Yeah, in his case, dumb.
