Tom: It is with considerable sadness that I offer the opinion, my opinion only of course, that even though the British will never really be "European" (the EU is a wholly owned subsidiary of the French with a minor partenership with the Germans, and the British frozen out in the bureaucratic numbers and clout) [they - the British - were once a "world" power - the others also rans], the Lord is acting European, i.e. solidarity with the EU and to Hell with what is best in technological terms. So cut the new American off before he can bring rationality to choice of CDMA 2000 vs WCDMA. If this actually happens, it is simply pitiful IMO. But then, again, it may not. It's only a media report after all, and that is not worth much in terms of real world reality. Best. Chaz
