I'm not arguing for or against the option grants, but the number of ORCL shares outstanding has decreased slightly in the last couple of years. According to one article I read, buybacks had resulted in an earnings/share increase of about 1 cent. (And I realize that you could argue that they should have spent that money on something else or paid dividends, so I'm not expressing an opinion about the wisdom of the share buyback, either. Just pointing out that there hasn't been any dilution lately, unlike some other companies that we can all name...)
