Tom: Point well taken. Since Vodafone swallowed Airtouch, Vodafone has gone away from everything Airtouch built its success on - most importantly CDMA.

Perhaps letting Bell Atlantic operate Verizon cleanly will be best. Vodafone has been an anchor around Verizon Wireless's neck IMO.

Perhaps the Germans and the British deserve their own horse in the US race - and from the evidence to date, the FCC will help as much as is possible - mindboggling BTW that the FCC favors European operators and suppliers (viz. the long extensions of 911 compliance when people die because of that when US technology - Snap Track is here and working now - simply shameful, heartless and a transparent sign of the old line "big guy" operators influence within the FCC). Hope I am wrong re FCC, but sadly, the track record is against the public interest vs the old line operators interest.

Just imagine the EU giving favoritism to US companies - NOT.

But, enough.

Best.
