An Interesting Speculation on the Manipulation of the Crude Oil Market:

Message 18399997
Message 18400092

Now let's add things up.

1) Bush foments vast uncertainty in the MidEast.
2) Bush abets phony "strikers" in Venezuela creating a deficit in crude imports to the Gulf Coast
3) Bush refuses to release SPR oil that could maintain normal markets and refinery processing in U.S. domestic markets.

Conclusion? Bush is attempting to distort the oil market, driving prices to very high levels, inducing phony shortages and creating a windfall profit opportunity for his bribers.

Of course, the only part of this whole racket that matters is the windfall profits. The rest is just an unfortunate consequence of crony capitalism at its best and most effective.

Bush's motto? "Cornering markets for fun and profit!"
