How many times in your life have abortion or cloning affected you? Or will they ever? So why do you care?
Homosexuality more likely to affect you. Some despise it, some invite it, others are mixed. My attitude as a grown adult is to live and let live so long as homosexuality isn't forced on me. They pretty much stay to themselves, so it's it's a microscopic issue to me. Cloning will never affect me. Except we already eat cloned foods if we buy form mega-farmers. That's why I try to buy organic. Cloned foods just dont taste as good. Abortion is a hot button issue. I have had one experience with it along time ago. A girl I was dating got one. It went smoothe. A little crying the next day. Then we were both glad it was safe and available. I had absolutely no interest in marrying her and it would have been a disaster if I had. By the way GW Bush also reportedly had the same experience as a youth. It happened a lot more back in the 70's. Abortion is a very personal painful decision. But it's got to be available. And it's got to be safe. It's really a shame the issue had to become so politicized. It's mainly a personal issue, primarily for the woman. And I do not believe it is anyone else's busines, especially the largely male anti-sex religious types who want to outlaw it. And not all in the church do. My father has only slept with one woman his whole life but as a theologian would never judge a woman harshly if she got an abortion for a justifiable reason. Human life is sacred? Maybe, but so are a lot of living things. Really all a matter of opinion waht's more sacred. And the right-wing now wants to bomb the hell out of Iraq, Thousands will die, including children. So we can't be too black and white moral about human life. Indirectly we all kill. Animals to eat, children who starve when we throw away good food, "residual damage" in our wars, those who die from the pollution we cause. Personally, I think 1000 year old redwoods are more sacred than a fertized egg. Even even a panda foetus, something very wonderful and rare. Irreplaceable. So I wonder why some rightwing-religiosos support drilling and plundering out wildlife refuges. Those are God's creations too. And one of a kind.

If you travel the third world enough you realize there are so many unwanted children it's perhaps merciful to have fewer on this already overcrowded planet. Over-population is a terrible problem now and at the root of most of our problems. So frankly, if a woman cant or wont care for a baby, then I want her to be able to abort it ASAP. And having studied the science a bit I know the spinal column and beginnings of a human brain dont even start forming until 5-6 months. So what's the big deal?

That's my opinion. I respect yours. You should respect mind. And dont judge too harshly. Also consider that if Roe Versus Wade were ever defetaed at the hands of the GOP, the backlash would be enough to throw them out of power for a long time thereafter. That is why they haven't pressed it while paying lip service to the religious right. Like allowing gay marriage or legalizing marijuana, might make sense, but it's not a winning issue.
