Clearly, Chavez is working to set up a Castro style dictatorship (and with Castro's covert military assistance).

Had a surprise call from an old grad school and fishing friend of mine from VZ today. He had been transferred to Costa Rica but is taking a leave of absence... wants to be with his extended family at a time like this. Called to let me know he wouldn't be making a trip we were planning in February.

His read was very grim... Chavez is crazy and feels that with Castro and now LULA he cannot lose. Thought that a large splinter is about to occur in the military, an even larger split if the Cubans get more involved. And that is when he thinks this turns into civil war.

You all be safe!

But get Chavez GONE.
