Big Al:

What's the scenario for AAPL going below thirteen again? Do you have a limit purchase order placed? Are you willing to put your $$$ where your estimate is?? You said you had an order in around 15 at one point.

They really need to hit a home run with the CEO. If they do, anticipate a sudden rise in value - pre and post announcement.
Anyone, who's the new CEO? They need someone like David House from Intel, but he's taken at BAY.

The new CEO will not be Jobs. Jobs was interviewed on NBR yesterday and said he would only be acting for 90 days until a replacement for Gil was found and he loved being head of Pixar (I paraphrase).

Billy Gates is not going to be CEO either (too bad IMO). Just too many regulatory hurdles to overcome...Maybe they can steal that number two guy from MSFT (it's along time before he'll be CEO) or whomever was responsible for the hubbub about WIN95 (lets put a slow MacGUI on Wintel and have people line up to get it! AMAZING)

Aapl is a hardware and software co. Their competition is MSFT and the like and DELL and ilk in essence everbody. MSFT has increased spending on R&D. You know they are not going to sit still for Rhapsody. Comments anyone? ScottT
